He has an obsession...

With RECORDS!!! He left at 9 this morning to get gas and cash his checks.. He still isnt home.... I know he has stopped in at half price too see if they have anything.

His obsession with vinyl is starting to drive me insane! All he wants to do is look on ebay and smurf to find more and more and more. It's like all he thinks about. Anyone else have this issue with their hubby?

I mean a hobby is good, yes. When we met it was a hobby for him. Now its like his LIFE! When someone is spending between 50-150 a month on records... they have a serious problem.

I mean if it's taking away from paying bills or being productive, that's one thing. But otherwise let him have his hobby! At least he's not rotting in front of the TV on video games. My ex is obsessed with his martial arts and spends most of his time training but that's what he loves so I understood. Sometimes it drove me crazy but it's just his thing.

Can he afford to spend that much?? If he's working, and he wants to spend that much, that's his decision as long as the bills are paid. I wouldn't tell SO what he couldn't spend money on once the bills are paid and we've got leftovers for the week.

It only bothers me to an extent. I mean he is spending like 35-60 a pop on one record. It leave me with no money to do anything I like to do. Its like all he cares about is getting his fix for his records. Yes i choose this over someone obsessed with video games but its still hard. The only money i ever spend is for or on my son. If I buy something for myself or come home from walmart spending 50 bucks on stuff for Gideon or things around the house He gets pissed off and Im like what the smurf!!!!!!!!!!! You just spent almost a grand on smurfing Beatles records?!?! And youre bitching at me for buying soap and diapers?! Or a new diaper bag for the kid?! This is what makes me upset.

sounds like you haven't worked out a process for how to decide who gets to spend what.
i'd focus on that.
if you work out an arrangement that you both think is fair, you won't have to worry about how he spends his money.
