i feel like a bad mom

posted 24th Nov
Okay so i know there are plenty of other worse things i could do to be a bad mom, but i feel horrible, DS needs to take a nap so i layed him down in his pack n play and he woke up, but regardless he still needs to take a nap, so i let him lay there and he is perfectly content, not making a peep but hes awake and im hoping he puts himself to sleep, i just feel so bad for leaving him there awake but i understand he needs to learn to put himself to sleep.

If he's not upset then he's entertaining himself, no reason to feel bad.

Um, just because he's awake doesn't mean he automatically needs to be held. There's absolutely no harm in laying him in his playpen.

There's nothing wrong with him laying there.. My son lays on the floor contently. They don't need to be held every time they're awake.

Why does he need to learn to put himself to sleep? And if he's not crying or anything I'm sure he will be fine.

If he's content he's fine. I wouldnt let him lay there and scream.

Seriously? I'd silently be jumping for joy if one of my boys would have laid there, content for more than thirty seconds!!

the only way he will sleep at night and for naps during the day is being rocked and held, i want him to learn to put himself to sleep when its bedtime. i dont do CIO, so if he were to start crying i would go get him but any chance i get i try to get him to put himself to sleep.

If hes not crying or anything than just leave him here. Sometimes i just leave my 2 month old in his crib if hes just fussing but once he starts to cry ill go get him.
