Why?

posted 24th Nov
Do women try to start inducing themselves at like 35 weeks? I never tried to do any of the "inducing techniques" I was set up an induction after my due date, only b/c I was so big and I had a very tiny frame(still do). When you try to tell them it's still too early, they say "No. He is measuring two weeks ahead and he is over the gestational weight already so he is already bigger then they say. He is fine." The quotes are not my mine at the end, they are coming from someone I know."

Because they are impatient and silly.
I'd never want an early baby. Even at 37 weeks, both my son and daughter had to be under the bili-lights for 24 hours. It puts a damper on the bonding experience. Both of them were born at 37 weeks, on the nose.

But, most techniques of trying to induce labor wont work unless baby is ready anyways... so it's not really much of a concern. Just a reason to shake your head at silly people.

I'm not sure why I'm 40 weeks today the only thing I have done is walking to get things moving. I'm enjoying my pregnancy. I would like my baby to be healthy my baby was measuring a pound larger than its suppose to be at 37 weeks but I never tried anything to induce myself

Idk. It irks me though. A friend of mine was in and out of the hospital thinking she was in labor. For some STUPID reason, her doctor induced her at 37 weeks but the "baby was measuring two weeks ahead" and "the ultrasound said he was over 9 lbs so he's ready!". Bullllllllllllllllllsmurf. That poor kid was exactly 5 lbs and spent some time in the NICU because he was a preemie. What's so wrong waiting the last few weeks? People are dumb.

This, I am induced at 39 weeks, I was hoping to go into labor before my induction but nothing worked.

37 weeks is not a preemie. If he was in the NICU it was for other reasons. Past 36 weeks is not premature.

Yeah I understand that. My DD was born at 36 weeks. I'm just saying once he was born, he wasn't as developed for a 37 weeker.

Trying to get things going before your due date because you have to be induced, is different.

I would rather go into labor on my own than be induced. This last time my body wasnt responding well to the pitocin. Probably used to it by now... and my labor was over 30 hours with my water broken. MASSIVE uterine infection and almost ended up with a c-section. Makes me not want to have kids again, considering the track history, I'll probably need to be induced again.

No.. what you said was that he had to be in the NICU because he was a preemie. That is false.

If he was in the NICU something was wrong. Generally, even at 5 pounds, they don't worry if baby is healthy otherwise. My friend had all over her kids at just a hair over 5 pounds.... at 40 weeks.

I'm not here to argue. That's what the on-call OB said to my friend and I.

With my son I was in labor for 3 days with my daughter I didn't deliver her placenta ended with an emergency trip to the OR for an emergency d and c and 2 units of blood because my hemiaglobin levels were low.

35 is early! I am going to start trying to induce at 37 1/2-38 weeks.
and i don't care who judges me, the only way i am going to able to deliver naturally is if i have this baby early... Otherwize im stuck with another c section that i don't want... I have a small frame and Anthony was too big to deliver naturally.. and he was only 8 pounds 7 ounces.
