Thrush in Newborn and YI and thrush in me?

So yea on top of everything else my Logan is going through, hes probably got thrush. They asked me if I had anything going on, I have like a shooting burning pain in my chest now that wasn't there before when I feed him and after, my nipples are a little red/pink but I'm also pretty sure im getting a yeast infection TMI sorry belive it or not on my booty....talk about embarrased and sad now... So IDK what the peds Dr will do since if the mother has thrush too you have to treat both at the same time, Should I mention what I'm going through to him and what would he prescribe us?

Antibiotics are for bacteria, yeast is a fungus.
OP you will get some sort of antifungal.

U will get nystatin in liquid form u only give a little bit to baby the pharmacy will show u and u put 1 drop fom the liquid on ur boobs 1 drop each side.... It's very sticky.

anything to make this go away... its like a deep stinging / shooting burning pain and its worse today than yesterday....

Im so thankful we can just go home and relax, I'm also bleeding bright red blood again and my OB told me to slow down....

I've been so busy taking care of our baby...l my body went down hill...either that or this hospital has my immune system down

maybe things are done differently with us because we're in different countries, but me & my son were given anti-biotics.

Nothing helped till I got meds my was a shooting burning stinging itchy feeling.

No, I promise you weren't. Like she said, BIOTICS = bacteria. Thrush is a fungus. You will get diflucan or nystatin, which are anti-fungals.

It doesn't matter what country you're in, antibiotics will still not kill fungus. On the contrary...if it's a yeast infection, antibiotics will make it worse.

Of course UK fungus can be treated with antibiotics LOL.
It would have been an anti fungal treatment like nystatin.

You'll get nystatin liquid for the baby and probably the cream form for your nipples.

Logan had it and we did that for 2 weeks but I swear I feel like it didn't work. When I took him in I did ask about the genatian violet (sp?) and all I got was "Oh that's just too messy".

It is messy but I tell you that when I felt like the thrust wasn't gone, I got it and did that for 3 days 2 times a day and his mouth looked better and my nipples felt better!

diflucan seems to work best. Nystatin seems to take forever.

This but most the time they start with nystatin first.

With my son they gave him the nystatin liquid, and me the oral diflucan.
