Baby newborn is coming home with oxygen but not humidified.

So after setting up the delivery for home oxygen the chick on the phone tells me they wont give us the sterile water to add humidity to his nasal canula because they can drown???? I just asked my nurse and she said she's never heard of that....Im pissed. I really think he needs to have the humidity...hes just a damn newborn!!!!!!


So have any of you mamas have something like this happen?

The person u need to talk to is the respiratory therapist that set up the order and the dr that signed it off. The nurse doesnt set oxygen up

the woman said she was calling up to pulmonary that was 20 mins ago and Im still waiting...grrrr...

I know its frustrating (ds was in nicu for 2wks and i work in a hospital on the floor) just when someone comes in ask about it again..a lot of times nurses are waiting to hear back from the therapist who usually is the only one or two used for the whole nicu or unit and get busy and tend to forget briefly
