My son's name is Damon Jackson G. DH wanted to call him DJ. He maybe has once. For us planning a nickname didnt work. He is a Damon not a DJ. I think AJ can go either way. Maybe see what fits once she is here

I love Adelaide, and I like having more boyish nicknames paired up with a very feminine first name, like George for Georgina or Georgia. I find it cute.

You could also have the nickname Laila if you wanted to push it.

What you call them as children may not stick with them as they get older.

I named my daughter Danika and planned on calling her Dani.
Son's name is Dominic, planned on calling him Nico until he's older.

I don't see why you can't plan nicknames lol. Someone's just being bitchy I think.

I don't care about masculine nicknames. It isn't her legal name.

As for planning a nickname. I named my daughter Ariadne Lucille. I planned on calling her Lucy before she was born. I call her Lucy most of the time but sometimes Ariadne.

I have negative connotations with AJ as a nickname or a name or anything but if you like it it is fine
