Help! stomach issues...
posted 24th Nov
I'm sorry in advance if this is tmi, but I'm just at a loss.
For as long as I can remember I've had completely random, unpredictable episodes of stomach/intestinal/bowel trouble. Nothing specific ever leads up to it, or is a cause. It is usually after dinner only. Anywhere from 5 to no more than 30 minutes after I eat I am in the bathroom, in excruciating pain, with extremely loose even watery stool. When this happens I have intestinal cramping that literally feels like knots are being twisted in my intestines and pulled as hard as possible. Normally, this is once a week at most 3 times. But typically less than that. When it happens its usually only one bowel movement And then all pain and problems subside. Occasionally it takes twice.
Recently however, I had a massive attack of this. It lasted over 24 Hours and happened a few times an hour, even throughout the night. With this instance However, there was no stool, only bright red blood and mucous. The bleeding lasted almost the full 24 Hours. When I'd go, there would be blood clots/globs in the water and I'd wipe and nothing but Blood and occasionally mucous. I went to the emergency room, got checked, have no hemorrhoids, and was diagnosed with an unknown rectal hemorrhage.
Fast forward 4 weeks and its been happening again, minus bleeding issues. Literally the moment even water hits my stomach my intestines/gut goes into overdrive like they're being ripped out.
Anyone have this and have been told a cause?
Sorry it's long and if there are errors, I'm mobile.

Sounds like you need to go to a gastro dr and have a scope done...prob can't do that pregnant though. I have IBS and I am similar only though no blood, just straight mucus sometimes.

Honestly I would go back for a second opinion. This is what I experienced for years and years, and I thought it was just IBS. I finally went to get a second opinion and they diagnosed it as GERD.

I have Crohn's and my flare-ups are absolutely horrible. At my worst, I would go up to 30 times in 24 hours. I lose a ton of weight during my flare-ups also. They're painful and embarrassing.
Luckily I'm in remission, currently.
Perhaps you could schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist sometime soon?
My younger brother had to have
a blockage removed due to his Crohn's. He
lost nearly 100 pounds in less than a year because of it.

I know I need to get it looked At though. I'm going to bring it up to my nurse next time I go in. Just hoping to have some possibilities to throw out there.

My brother wasn't a terribly heavy guy before he had his severe flare-up that lead to blockage. He's 6'1" and weighed 230...he list down to 135 before he had the blockage removed. He was very sickly and skinny...and he was only 21 at the time.

I have this problem a lot.
I thought it was due to my gallbladder removal, because that's when it started. But my friend, who is also having this problem, went to the doctor for it and she was told it could be a small hole in her intestine.
She hasn't went to the doctor for it to be checked yet, but that's what her GP said it could be.

I've actually recently been eating greek yogurt. It's one of the only things I can manage to keep down.
