That's generally a good starter question

I don't think that's a big age difference. However the law will disagree with it. Are your parents aware of his age?

Yeah, she came back and posted that they know and their response was if you take care of the baby we wont press charges but if you dont we'll press charges.

How does that make no sense??   The parents were telling the SO that if he didn't care for his kid, they'd turn him in. That makes perfect sense...

It would make more sense to turn him from the get go. Not blackmail him. Then they're going to get questioned why didn't they report it sooner.

No they won't. This makes perfect sense. If he's caring for the child, then putting him in jail would be stupid. He can't pay child support in jail. But if he wants to skip out, they'll turn him in, because not like he's helping anyhow.

Her parents are kind of tweeking out on that. I mean, what's the statute of limitations on statutory rape in their state? What happens if he 'supports' the kid and aids in raising it until the statute runs out, then bails and they can't do anything and he gets away scott free?

Eh, some states don't have a statute of limitations on rape, especially with a minor. So it'll depend on where she lives. You know?

How can you call BS on that? Were you there? I never asked age when I was dating someone, I can see it never coming up if you don't go places where you need to be carded.

He just didn't. We hung out a lot, walked to the park a lot and Idk, he just never asked me. Then after about 3 months his sister had said something and that's when he asked me. Hmmph, but that was 8 1/2 yrs ago though , lol ....

Nope, not in my case. Oh well....after 8 1/2 yrs and 3 kids, who knows?! But I do remember when he did ask me ( bc he thought I LOOKED at least 17 ) and I told him 14 he was shocked but we were already crazy for each other by then so there was no backing out and I am glad we didn't. We are very lucky and blessed to have each other.
