Heartburn, and doctor

Please tell me....is there anything at alllll that an ob can prescribe me for heartburn???? I thought I could hold out, but it's gotten so bad I wake up in tears because its bothering me so bad  . I have tried suggestion after suggestion from some of the ladies on here have given. Now the only thing that gives even slight temporary relief is milk. But milk is getting to the point it only works for a few minutes. I have cut back on acidic foods.and things that trigger it but I'm still getting it. So can something be prescribed?

I think there's one Rx that they can give you. Ask at your next appointment. I didn't get heartburn much so I just took tums. Also if you watch your diet and eat foods that aren't acidic it might help. Citrus, tomatoes/sauce, caffeine, acid in soda, those sort of things. And sleep with the top half of your body elevated might help too in the meantime.

I definetly plan to ak. I just wanted to make sure it was even worth asking lol. Oh and I have cut back on allll of that except for my daily caffeine so I dont get a migrane.

Where have you been momma? Been off the grid for a while. :O
Have you tried Zantac?
It won't seem to help at first, but AI've been taking it twice a day for almost a month now and have noticed results.

You can take Tums and Zantac I believe. I did.

You can definitely get a prescription for it! I don't know what exactly it is I'm on LOL but I have to take two pills a day AND Tums :/

its a definite help. I had GERD so I would wake up in the middle of the night with stomach acid pooled in my mouth. SO unpleasant!

Oh gosh that must be awful!!! I suffer acid reflux which I thought was nad enough until this heartburn became existent!

I am so tempted to pass it up this time, since I've never had it with any of my pregnancies. but it's for the baby's sake so I'll choke the nasty stuff down.
Be ready. It's going to taste like orange soda that someone dumped a whole bag of sugar into. You'll have to drink it all in under 5 minutes, and if you puke you will have to drink another one. and this is after hours of fasting to boot.

Yeah I've heard good n bad...but my doctor told me I could eat meaty lile stuff but nothing else....idk if its because I suffer hypoglaucemia or what. But man I just wannz get it over with. And how far along are you?

Yeah low blood sugar would be why he'd have said that. I wasn't allowed to eat anything.

Yeah that is what I'm guessing too. I would just.have a horrible you're if I.want allowed to eat before.
