re: Unique Names

posted 23rd Nov
Yeah I'm with most of the other mama's. I like unique names, I just hate made up smurf that looks like a mess and with atrocious spelling.

I actually love your kids names OP. They are really cute.
I have a Michael Leif
Michael is really classic but he's named after his grandpa and Leif isn't too common but I love it. Most people hated it in real life that knew us but SO and I liked it and that's really all that matters

Awww me too. We liked Zora too. It was on our list.

Quoting Fallon and Scout's Momma:" You have to dig. There are a lot of variations. We have family that have the name. The symbol has bee. Part of celtic history for years. Its three cirles entwined. Its really awesome actually."

The name pops up in Latin, Hebrew and Arabic, but not Celtic....

Also, the symbol you are talking about...is it a circular version of Triquetra knot? Like this:

That would be great, because I've never heard of this symbol before.

Its really pretty. I wear the tree of wisdom everyday on a necklace. Which is also been called the tree of life but it actually is different. I see the trinity in that symbol though.

I love unique names! My son is Tavin. I've never met another Tavin before. I also really like Tate! I've seen Tate a few times, but not too often.

There is a difference between "unique" and "youneek".

You can have a unique name that's not made-up random crap that won't age well. Sorry, but crap like Bryleigh, McKynlie or Avalynn.....come on, people - your child will spend the majority of their life as an adult, name them as such.

Then there are unique names that have beautiful meanings, histories and roots - things like Kerensa, Illyria, Liadan.......

No. Aria as in a melody.

It has gained popularity over the past couple years due to Pretty Little Liars...but I wouldn't call it "quite common". I don't know anybody who's named their daughter that and a good friend of mine who is a L&D nurse had never heard of it.
