Am I losing my mucus plug please help

posted 23rd Nov
okay last night and today ive had sorta like egg white cervical mucus thats a cloudy white with a little yellow in it .Its very sticky reminds me of when your are ovulating type of mucus . My question is what do you think ? I'll be 36 w on monday thanks

if you lose your mucus plug doesn't that mean its like a cork screw that holds the bag of water and keeps the infections out . If you lose it dont u have to go in to the doc to see if anything happens ? i mean it forms in the beginning of pregnancy thats why if you lose it your doc wants to see you

Very well could be your MP. No biggie, it can regenerate.

Could be ... but losing it doesn't mean a whole lot as it can regenerate... I have lost mine 2 separate times now (months apart)

What's the problem? You can lose your mucus plug and have it regenerate throughout your pregnancy. With number two i lost it three times starting at 26 weeks and dd was born at 41 weeks. Nothing to worry about.
And to be honest that doesn't really sound like mucus plug, mucus plug typically has a little bit of blood in it. That's sounds like my usual pregnancy discharge.

Lol, losing it does not mean you need to see a doctor... In fact most people don't even notice losing it due to the increase in discharge in late pregnancy anyways. That probably wasn't even it. Even so, it grows back... And can over and over. It does not always mean labor is near, nor is it a call for any type of concern, at all. Relax.

At 36 weeks, losing your mucus plug isn't a huge deal. I was actually dilated (my cervix was open a bit) from 34 weeks on last pregnancy until i was induced at 39 weeks. The only time it would be a big deal is if you were earlier than 34 weeks and were already having issues with Pre-term labor and you're earlier than 34 weeks (35 weeks at certain hospitals).

I'm 33 weeks with my 3rd child. Just lost mine tonight. I remember with my second pregnancy, I lost that darn thing twice. I was about 35-36 weeks the first time and about 38-39 weeks the second time. I had my daughter at 39 weeks and 3 days. The first one, I never noticed losing it though. By now, I know what that is and it's pretty nasty. Looks like you blew your nose and can sometimes be tinged with blood. It does grow back however, I've not figured out if it causes cramping. That would be nice to know as I have been. I figure it's just the baby settling down into the canal. GL

The cramping causes the changes to your cervix and that causes you to lose your plug. Since it grows back, but doesn't have as much to hold on to, you keep losing it until you deliver. That's why the end is so gross.
