Tell me about your VBAC!

How did your VBAC go? Did you go into labor on your own? were you induced with pitocin? Were you monitored the whole time? Where did you have your VBAC, hospital, birthing center, at home?
I'm trying to get as much info as possible because we are going to be TTC within the next year after having a csection in December 2011! I am a VBAC candidate and am hoping to have my vaginal birth next time! TIA

I have never had one, but my best friend did and she is so happy with her decision. She had her son in Waco Texas, she wasnt induced, her water actually broke 40wks 1day and she had time to get ready and go. I think she said they gave her a little pitocin to help things along, but she was able to have him with no complications. Mind you she had her daughter 4 yrs prior so maybe the time difference may be a factor, since she had 4 yrs to heal I mean.

Id definitely talk to your doctor about it though. They can keep you monitored and rush you back if necessary. Not the most ideal situation, but if you're really looking to do it, it is an option. What was the reason why you had a c section in the first place. That will be a major factor in how your next delivery goes.

That's great for her!! Well I was induced a week before my due date because of possible Pre- eclampsia. I was in labor for 29 hours and pushed for 2 but my contractions were really irregular and between my contractions and me pushing he just wasn't moving down.   any progress I made he would just go back up after I was done pushing! I tried for 2 hours and my doctor recommended a csection because he was too high up. I just don't think my body or my son was ready for labor yet. It wasn't an emergency csection, my doctor told me during it that I could try for a vaginal birth still with my future babies! Other than that I haven't talked to him about it yet.
I hope everything will turn out good for me like your friend! I still have trouble with the fact that I had a csection. I feel like I missed out   and hated that everyone got to hold him before me!

ya i have a strict rule that if i have a c section, my son and husband stay with the baby and then it comes to me. I know it might sound selfish, but I dont want everyone having their hands all over my daughter before Ive had a chance to bond with her. I carried this girl for this long, I deserve to bond with her first lol

And thats good, sounds like you just werent ready, I almost had to have one with my son for the same reason, I was induced and shouldnt have been, it was a traumatic birth but we got him out. I wont be induced again unless its medical.
