Is he old enough to start solids? If so, maybe you should since he seems into it.

my boys' doctor said at 5 months to try rice and 6 months try one fruit or veggie a week. my little guy is 6 months and loves all the baby food I've tried on him! Their doctor said not to substitute food for formula. And that the main fear of solids is choking babies. I thought it was digestive issues but he assured me that by 6 months as long as you don't over do a new food the body will tolerate it through their system and start adjusting just fine

He's 5.5 months. So we could start him at any moment...but I wanted Christmas to be his first time trying solids...but I think we're going to start sooner now that I got him interested in it sooner than planned. I just got impatient lol

I think it'd be a good idea to give him some practice before xmas imo

LO never really cared too much about what we were eating...until I let him taste my apple. He used to watch us carefully when we were doing anything that wasn't entertaining him, so I never really thought about him being ready for solids yet. I just wanted to see what he would do with the apple...well, turns out he LOVES them. I'm sure he's ready for solids, but I'm not sure I'm ready for my baby to grow up....I sound silly, I know

Making it, when I can. Our grocery store is very limited when it comes to "fresh foods" Most of the time it's all expired and moldy on the shelf   We haven't been able to pinpoint the exact day that a new shipment comes in, and by the time we get there, a lot of the fresh stuff has already been purchased and gone. Sucks.

They get food delivered at different times a month. We've asked before, and we were told one day, only to go there on that day to find that it was actually a few days before that. They really don't have their smurf together. We're probably going to do a lot of canned and frozen when it comes to peas and beans and stuff, but avocados and sweet potatoes will have to be a once a month treat, or something...Oh well, hopefully we get our transfer soon, so we can live in a community that has an actual grocery store.

Genius!
SO wants to start DS out on meat, like steak   That freaks me out. I want to start with avocado, sweet potato and bananas. Something about giving my baby a steak, or a pork chop just doesn't sit right with me. I feel that since it's going to be me that's preparing his meals, I should have more of a say in what we feed him...does that make me a bitch? I hate cooking meats when it's just SO and I. Touching and handling raw meat makes me cringe...I would be more comfortable doing veggies, fruits and baby oatmeal as first foods.
