He saw on the news that Health Canada (I think is where it was) is recommending that a first food for babies is meat   I saw it too, but I wasn't paying attention. Now he's got it in his head that that's what we're supposed to/going to do that....I should let him have his way, then when HE wants to have cake and cookies for breakfast (as he often does when we have it in the house) I'll remind him that health canada doesn't recommend it...haha

That's exactly why. Sucks, because he won't budge. I asked him to get a hold of his pilot friend to send us up a couple avocados for DS, and he's like, "no, he's supposed to eat meat first"   I'm sorry, but SO isn't exactly the epitome of the Canadian food guide...I don't know why he's trying to start now...

My LO has been on oatmeal and fruits and veggies since 3 months and we started our oldest at 4 months. The doctor okayed it and he was REALLY ready for it! Took it right off the spoon the first time. Now, at 4 + months, he nearly climbs into the bowl to get at his dinner lol!! I say, if you feel they are ready for it and your gut says its okay, then go for it.
