Petty cash

I've never heard of it until now. I'm being asked:
You are asked to balance the petty cash account. You find there was $20 to begin with and you have vouchers for $17. How much is left in petty cash?

I got through all these q's and this one threw me off :-/

3.00 is left

how many vouchers are there? if 1, you have $3 left. It's just the money that get's used for items needed for the company.


eta: nevermind, i see the total is $17, not $17 per voucher lol

$3 is left. Whatever balance there is to begin with, you just leave it at that. It never changes, so how ever many memos or vouchers there are for the account, you just subtract it from the original balance.
