how did you know

I have had my bloody show, lost my mucus plug and ive leaked colostrum. Also have had some sharp pains n pressures, how and when did u know u were in labor. My doctor n hospital are a hour away. When do I go in?

either when your water breaks or contractions are 3-5 mins apart.

When you're having contractions. General rule is 5 minutes apart lasting a minute or longer for 1 hour.

Considering how far away from the hospital you are, i would go in a little bit sooner. Some women labor very quickly, so if you wait till the 3-5 mins apart, there's a very real chance you could be laboring on the side of the road instead of in your hospital! esp. if you hit heavy traffic or catch a detour on your way in. I would say if it gets any closer than 10mins apart & are showing patterns or you just can't stand the pain, go ahead & go in! better to be safe than sorry.

I had all of those months before I had my first LO.

Or call L&D and ask what they suggest

I didnt feel contractions at the time and i didnt have any signs of labor until my water broke while i was sleeping...i just thought i had to pee but it just didnt stop

Oh! And I would go when contractions are 7 min apart. If you labor like me the car progresses labor like fast just the bumps and jiggles so it's a good idea to be a bit earlier when you're that far away. I personally would never make it to the hospital if I lived an hour away. I live 5 mins away and barely make it in time.

I heard sometimes u can't tell when ur having contractions or when ur water breaks cuz sometimes its just a trickle

I think my problem is that I never feel my contractions till I hit transition... even then they don't hurt it's the pressure that tells me it's time. But by then I have like 30 minutes till I deliver.
