Diagnose me

posted 23rd Nov
I'm going to the doctor but I just wanted to see what you guys think.

So on monday I was puking and had this horrible dry cough. Maybe a low grade fever for a little while but none other than that. Well the puking is gone but I've been coughing none stop since Monday. I've also been dealing with constant migranes for the last 2 weeks.
Well today now you can feel the crap in my chest when I breathe and the cough isn't dry anymore but I'm not actually coughing anything up it just sounds really nasty.
If I move around to much it gets really hard to breathe and I start to shake and get really dizzy.
I got sent home from work earlier because I was coughing so much and couldn't breathe. And because I went to go get something from the back of the store and blacked out.

What do you think it is?

Sounds like bronchitis or pneumonia. Hope it's not either though and hope you feel better soon!

My son and I both went to the doctor for nearly the same symptoms and got told it was a virus and sent home.

the whole 'not breathing' thing would make me think pertussis....but i think i've just got it on my mind. my son has been coughing for a while now and it seems to be getting worse so i'm just freaking out about him maybe having pertussis.

DD had the same thing and was admitted to the hospital for 24 hours last week. It ended up being viral pneumonia. My thinking is if you are dizzy and having a wet cough (her symptoms), you aren't moving oxygen like you should. I would go in for a steroid shot and a breathing treatment before you pass out. Her pulse-ox was 79% and it should be 96-100% in children.

What's the difference in viral pneumonia and normal pneumonia?

Is your LO ok now? Poor thing

That has a very distinctive cough associated with it.

Normal is bacterial and can be treated with antibiotics. Viral has to run its course. She's doing much better now. The breathing treatments and steroids really helped!

That's good.

I guess I'll just go to an immediate care center when SO gets home since my doctor is closed today
