What goes with Bri?

posted 31st May
Hubby and I have picked out our boy name and are happy with it. We're working on a girl name. I was really pushing for Briana (because I wanted to call her "bri" ) and DH said - I hate Briana but I really like Bri.

My trouble is, what goes with Bri? My problem is all middle names either have too many vowels or sound like they're attached to the name bri - like, I like alexis but it runs together and turns into "brilexus" which is annoying. Bri Mikala sounds.. odd.. Bri Morgan I think I like, but I'm not sure.

It's also getting attached to the last name Pink. Yes, I know. I'm cruel :S At least I'm not naming the poor kid Rose!

Any ideas for middle name?

Elizabeth, Isabella... I think you need a longer middle name w/ such a short first and last name.

You might be right on the longer middle name.
I like Brianne too, but DH has veto rights (dang him and his veto...)

I think I'd try to find a longer name that starts w/ Bri

Briley
Brinley
something like that w/the NN of Bri.

you name her Bri and somoene is bound to call her Cheese head or something .

Valid point on the cheese thing. But- in all fairness- brie is the best cheese out there!

Silly DH. I'll work harder to convince him on a longer names I guess
His picks for girl names: Bree, Aeode, and Trixie. wtf??

I thought my husband had awful taste in names but, at least all i can say about his choices is they were boring and or over used lol

Haha, yeah. Issues indeed. He says to me, "It's our duty, being in our early 20's, to make sure our kid fits in with the other kids with different and original names. If we name her something boring, then imagine what we're doing to our generation!"

But our boy name is Noah Tobias. Explain the originality there? Haha.

Here's something to make you laugh... when picking the middle name imagine yelling it when they're older ha ha!! I did that with my daughter Kenzie Geene   It sounds mean, but come on now you're bound to use the middle name when they're in trouble once in awhile! I vote that if you're going to call her Bree then name her Bree. Personal opinion and everyone has their own, BUT I don't like it when people name their kid one thing and call them another. My ex wanted McKenzie, but I new I would call her Kenzie so that's what she got. Just a thought.

Good luck with the middle name though, that's a tough one to match, but when you do you know it's going to be absolutely perfect.

i'm the opposit....sorta. I'm all about longer name w/ shorter nick names.

how i enede up giving my gids short names that don't have nick names is beyond me.
The good thing about longer names,is it gives the kid options when they are older. Just my opinion

I figured if I did call her something longer like Briana I'd just use it when she was in trouble- you know, "briana abigail pink, get over here right now!" Like my sister Jessica- she is never called Jessica unless we're being serious about something.

I think I agree with calling her Brie or Bree- it just looks more finished and less like we just cut off a chunk of her name.

I actually REALLY like Bria too. Hmm... And Michelle. And Gabriella - I think you pick names like I do, B!
