And never was medicated for depression just recieved counselling from a child mental health counsellor.....

Do they know about the drug abuse? If you're not doing it while preg they have nothing on you to say you're unfit to parent. If you're baby came out addicted to drugs yes.

Yes but haven't touched anything recently before I even found out about the pregnancy I quit all together. Should I let my counsellor know?

You can try counseling again. If u go to a psychiatrist they can prescribe meds if they feel they're necessary for you. That might be the way to go. Then you'll know if being medicated is necessary.

I would tell them. Did u do drugs as a self treatment? This is very common with depression.

Yeah it's brain development. Which is still good to take if your prenatal doesn't have it in it.

I would recommend asking your dr. about it, like everyone sad they cant take your baby away just because you are depressed. If you still dont want to talk to your dr you can try natural things like vitamin b, going for walks, etc. hope you get to feeling better.

Yeah I always resorted to drugs after arguments, relationship breakdowns, and when i felt like I was going insane. I couldn't ever be left alone and would socialise with the wrong people everyday to keep my mind elsewhere.

If you were self medicating for depression with drugs then you really might need some antidepressants. You should really talk to your dr about it or a psychiatrist. I knew I needed meds this preg when I was seriously contemplating drinking to self medicate.
