Opinions Requested

This post comes with 2 parts:

1) What are your thoughts on this article? (It is a bit of a lengthy read but pretty interesting)

2) If your SO told you that he quit masturbating to porn because of it as he feels that the article applies to him, what would your reaction be?

Eh I don't seen porn as ruining sex lives, unless the person is addicted. A lot of people are simply visual and need something to watch to masturbate too. And no if my husband/wife had an issue with porn, that is something they would need to get over.

I believe it can ruin things in marriages.

Not everyone is okay with porn. If my husband said that- I'd be shocked because he doesn't watch porn anyways, hell he doesn't even masturbate. But if he were too and he told me, I'd be glad he recognized this and quit.

So..you don't agree with it then, in regards to it changing the way men learn about sex?

Would you be worried that he lost interest in you physically?

Or would you view it as him safeguarding your relationship to ensure it doesn't go that way?

Knowing my husband it would be a safeguard ( actually one reason we don't watch porn)

But like many women- I would worry he physically lost interest, but I would try and find out if he really did or not

Men have always been clueless about sex. I don't think the addition of porn has done anymore damage then already was done :-P. My sister is 35 and I remember her talking about some of the dumb things guys were saying about sex, when she was in middle school in the 80's :-P. I think in general men learn mostly when their so shows them what they want is all.

Would a previous porn addiction bring you concern if this new 'change' was brought up?

I do agree with you on that, for sure.

I'm struggling with this article. I'm an advocate for porn, to be point I actually have alot of respect for the adult entertainment industry but, this article makes me seriously question that stance.

I'm not a fan of the traditional industry because I feel it gives a negative impression towards women. But the homegrown more amateur stuff on the web not I feel is great.

my husband and i did not watch porn then we started to, i got more hooked then he did and it go to the point that i couldn't orgasm unless watching a porn, so i knew there was a problem and it wasnt so much that i was loosing intrest in my husband i guess it was more of a stimulation thing for me if that makes sence, my husband would be down there for 20 minutes and nothing but as soon as i put the porn on it was like 2 minutes lol it was as if i was bored though when he was down there i'd be thinking about things totally out of the ordinary but with porn on i was thinking about one thing and that would make me finish faster.

I don't know really. Hard to say because this does not apply to my husband and it won't.
