re: When did you start telling people you're pregnant?

with my 1st we told his parents and mine and my sisters as soon as we found out!
2nd around 8 wks
3rd didnt tell his family (they get really really really pissed!! since we have a lot of kids!) they found out around 20wks
4th didnt tell anyone until 8wks (my family only) because i went thru the misdiagnosed miscarriage i needed my mom!
his family was out of the loop until i started showing..at like 12 wks

i choose not to tell his family becasue they are SOOO damn judgmental..i love his family but since we have 7 kids and my DH has another one from a previous marriage that he pays for ...we just get judged...it sucks...his sister at one point even called me a whore who planned this kid (#2) i was like geee thanks sis!

i want more kids DH DOES NOT! but i really do after i graduate school next yr..and hell be a chef by then so i want another one...gonna try to talk him into actually TTC a kid !!

but if i get pregnant before it wouldnt be the best timing and money is TIGHT...so we would definitely get called names!!

We're telling everyone Xmas day. For hubby's family (who we'll physically be with), we're dressing our daughter in a "soon to be big sister" shirt, and let his Mom take her coat off to see it.

For my family (who's long distance), I'm making a calender with Dec's picture being Maddy in her big sister shirt as well as a tiny picture of the positive pregnancy test on my EDD day.

After that I'll make an announcement on FB for people who aren't close.

I'm so excited and nervous. I am not sure how they are going to react.

There is no way we could tell EVERYONE in our families in person, I have 6siblings and a ton of aunts and uncles and DH has a large family too. I told my mom in person at about 7 weeks, called my dad and my DH told his parents the same day, so 7 weeks. Then at 8 weeks we made a Facebook post with a picture of our bassinet back out of storage that said "here we go again! Baby ____ #3 due in May!". We told everyone at 7 weeks with number 2 as well. Number 1 was a whole different jam.

Oh I just realized that I didn't quite read it properly. We've always told people right away. With our first we didn't even find out until we were 11 weeks, our 2nd we were about 8 weeks. 3rd, which ended in late loss, we told everyone with was at about 5 weeks. Even though we had a loss, this pregnancy we still told everyone as soon as we found out. I didn't make the big Facebook post until I got a hold of the people on the phone that we wanted to. We found out at 4 weeks.

we finally started telling family yesterday. both MIL and FIL were told over the phone (they're long distance) and we'll tell my family when we see them on dec 8. i'm 15w today (but 14w6d by LMP)
