How do you find a sitter?

We're new here, and I need to find a sitter for rare occasions, but I have no idea how to even do so. I'd ask my neighbors, but they seem very uninterested in even getting to know me, so I'd like to avoid that lol.

What area to you live in? Are you military? I loved living in SD.

Sittercity.com and care.com are reliable. I've been hired through those and I've also found jobs on craigslist. Craigslist can be shady, though.

We've never had anyone who wasn't family babysit our kids. But I've been hired to babysit and for nanny job through a website called sitter city. Www.sittercity.com you can choose a sitter who is certified in first aid CPR and one with a background check available to you and you can interview a few from the website before you choose one.
When people interview me I always recommend they have me do a test run while they are home so they can see what I'm all about.

how far away is dracut?

Dracut is about a half hour east of boston. It take about 35 minutes to get to the aquarium.
And I'm not looking for a nanny, I'm a former nanny. Im first aid and cpr certified (infant through adult) and my degree is in early childhood education so i made a pretty good nanny lol. it just go to be too much after number 2 arrived. I'm a SAHM and I'm pregnant with number 3 at the moment.

Thank you ladies. I'll check those sites out. The only people I know here are in northern CA, so I'd need someone closer. Otherwise, I'd just go with family.

thats too funny you're a nanny, i never would have thought. i did it for a bit in college. only newborns under 6 weeks old, and would rake in $350 a night. it was great!

you should make your way downtown and meet up with us. we're always at the aquarium or childrens museum
