Do you have a family member near by that you can call and take you to the hospital? If you look in your phone book you should be able to find the hospitals main phone number and they should be able to transfer your call or give you l&d's number.

The only person we have would come to watch our daughter...i didn't even think to look for the main phone number it hurts so bad and tonight was my worst fear...I'm trying a bath now but it's not helping them

pain in my back was how mine started, then it moved to the front, it definitely sounds like your labour has started but mine was like that for 40 hours, maybe hold off till the pain is unbearable or your water breaks.

I'm a huge baby when it comes to pain...and in the last two days I went from 1 cm to 4 and now this...I'm freaking out

I know it really hurts, but you may want to try a hot water bottle or something over the bath, just in case the pain makes it hard to get out on your own.

I couldn't do the bath sitting at that angle was not going to happen

were you able to get a hold of your l&d? Even if they say you don't need to come in they may be able to give you some tips on handling the pain??

No the phone just rang..I've tried twice

That's no good Would the person watching your other child be able to at least drop you off at the hospital? Maybe try some of the positions that are good if you are having back labor? Like being on hands and knees and stuff, might take some pressure off?

Have you tried laying down in a warm bath to cope with the pain? After my bf and I DTD I tend to get pretty bad Braxton hicks that start from my back to the front. (Tmi). Sometimes when I take a bath it helps. Trying to kick start labor is pretty hard. although, do you have a family doctor that you could reach?

Call your husband and explain - surely they will let him go so he can sort out a babysitter and take you to L&D.

He's the store manager in the mall...he isn't leaving

Maybe he can call another manager? Is a taxi an option for you incase your contractions get closer together?

Is there nobody else at all who can help? If not, you'll be doing this on the kitchen floor with no pain relief
