Well way back in the day engagement rings weren't diamonds, it didn't become the norm until the 20s I think when the term "diamonds are forever" was coined that it became fashionable. It used to be that the womans birthstone is the main stone in the engagement ring. My birthday is in May which is emerald and SO knows my love of history and that's why he got me an emerald ring.

Though a few girls have said since it's not a diamond it doesn't count. I'm not really a diamond person. I mean, they are pretty ... But they just look weird against my skin so I don't wear them.

Thats ridiculous people think it has to be a diamond to be an engagement ring! Yours is super pretty. When I see anyone wearing ring on their left ring finger I assume they are engaged. I loveeee to look at people rings and see all the different designs and stuff that are out there. Yeah I kinda stare at them in public sometimes lol   not as much though after I finally picked the type of ring I wanted! lol

Me too! I love looking at other peoples rings. I'm the only one out of my engaged friends that doesn't have a white gold diamond ring with a few diamonds either side so it makes me feel pretty special that no one else has one like mine!

ur ring is gorgeous! I'm not a fan of yellow gold but it looks so nice in that setting.

I like ring staring too lol esp. waitresses or hospital/nurse workers. The prettiest one I saw was a black diamond featured one. It had mystic topaz for accents.

My only problem with it is the metal keeps rubbing off. And it's all fake diamonds.

If you're not looking to go through a jeweler, which a lot of people aren't these days, look on ice.com! It's all real jewelry with a huge selection of lots of types of rings and they even break it up into payments for you.


My mom has gotten tons of rings from there and they are beautiful. Just an idea.  


ETA they have a pretty nice selection of gems that are the main focus point of the ring that has diamonds around it. I think this is gorgeous and simple and affordable. Just an example!
