Idk, I am going to put up a tree...I am just going to keep a close eye on my DD when she is near it...maybe you could put baby gates up in the room so she can't get to the tree?

I would put it up   my daughter was 10 months at her first Christmas, of course she kept touching it, like any child would/will lol, try to redirect her.

We had a fake tree for my DS's first Christmas. He was 9 months old. We bought shatterproof ornaments, and just redirected him when he tried to mess with it. We also left the bottom branches bare to help keep him from grabbing the ornaments. We never had any issues with him

Put it up near a wall where you can tie a rope or something in the center on the tree and attache it to the wall so it can't be knocked down. Also replace the glass bulbs with plastic ones.

do you have a portable play pen ?
if so and the tree isn't to big put the tree in it , that was bubs can look but not touch

My daughter still touches it and she's almost 5 lol, only to get the candy canes.

My dd never messed with it. She was 13 mos and just starting walking. We put the ornaments up high.

my daughter was 8 months her first Christmas and is now just over 2.5 she never went near the tree, so I guess I've been lucky she does now but just touches it a bit and says "wow Mommy, that is so pretty" but I also got her a little tree about a foot tall that she can play with when ever she wants, which she is always taking off the decorations and putting them back on, so maybe that helps too. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a tree, unless of course you are anti-Christmas he he   oh and mine went up yesterday, I am due around Christmas so I am trying to enjoy the season for as long as I can

Since we'll be out of town for most of this Christmas, we're just putting up our pre lit tree with a few ornaments up towards the top.

Put it up, just get plastic bulbs. Fiona got a hold of a glass one while I was doing dishes (she was 1). Glitter from it all around her mouth, I thought for sure she swallowed a piece. One ER trip later she was fine and hadn't ate any, but after that I invested in a crapton of bulbs that didn't break so easy.
