1st Period after giving birth

I had a baby 1month 1/2 ago I started my first period last Thursday a week from now my normal period usually lasts 3-4days its been 8days and Im still on it and it doesnt look like its about to end Im still bleeding alot its so uncomfortable everytime I get up I feel it coming out gross I know sorry I cant pick up anything heavy when i couch it comes out and when Im stressed my past pregnancy my period ended up lasting for 29days it was pad i would have to change pads every hr or less I really hope I dont go through that again is there anyway to stop it?
