It's really more of the principle. I didn't give Logan sugar of any kind until his 1st birthday cake."</blockquote>

I'd feel disrespected. I'm not very confrontational so I'd let the one marshmallow slide, but if I saw anything else I'd say something.

My mother in law does that. My sons pedi said at his 9 month appointment, that we could try him on eggs and peanut butter. I was still hesitant though, and when I talked to my mother in law she goes, "Oh, he loves eggs & peanut butter. He eats eggs every morning while your at school." She knew those were the 2 things I wouldn't budge on, and as mad as I was, I just had to let it go. Luckily he doesn't have an allergy to them, if he had, it would have ended up in a big argument.

I didn't freak out on anyone, just to be clear. I am way too shy to do that. :/ It's more the fact that they always don't listen to me or bully me into things. My fault because I need to be more assertive. I admit that I probably shouldn't be 'pissed off' but I promise I didn't go off or cause a scene. My husband spoke up and politely told them to stop feeding him food before I said anything about it so it was left at that.

Yep, people suck. Don't think you're overreacting - we all have rules for our own children, and we are not wrong for expecting them to be followed. I would be mad! Everyone always assume that they know better than you. NO idea why, but it's true.

You Arent overreacting if that's how you feel. I am not down with people feeding my child things i don't know about either. The one time my friend did this DS had an allergic reaction. People need to think about what can happen.

I know how you feel my Mom gave my son milkshake all the time behind my back and he was 4 months old. She would say "I gave it to yall and your fine" smh. I just ignore them and get my son.
