No, I do not. They are 9 and 10. They're allowed to go to the neighbors house, there's 1 house between ours and theirs. They have to call as soon as they get there, because if I don't hear from them in 5 minutes, I'm coming looking for them. But we live in a really close neighborhood now. Among people we know, I feel pretty secure here.

I do because he is 3 - but I will stand inside and do dishes or something and watch him out the window. Or I'll keep the front door open and watch him out the window from the living room.

nope *shock horror* I let him roam in our 9ft by 8.3ft courtyard containing paving and fake grass to his hearts content.

Poor baby...
When Deans outside, no, he's 6... and if he is outside he's usually hitting balls against garage wall, or against fence... there's nothing in my backyard besides grass and the fences...
The lil 1s aren't allowed out if he's hitting... if he's not hitting, Jade (almost 3) can play on lil porch in front of french doors that are open and my chair is right there so I can see her... maks (14 months) only goes out if were out there we usually put him in bouncer or something...

I always leave a window open if I'm not in the yard with my younger kids. I leave my eldest unsupervised, but of he is playing with the girls I do not. He is quite reckless and gets the girls hurt daily so it's just not safe.

OMG thats so tragic!
I don't supervise when DD is outside.. well.. by that I mean I don't stand over her and watch her play the entire time. We leave our back porch door open and often check on her.

Nope.
My 4 oldest (ages 5, 4 and almost 3 year old twins) play outside relatively unattended. I leave a window cracked or door open in good weather to keep an ear on them, but I don't stand over them or check on them a whole lot.
We have a completely fenced and wired-off garden of about 5 acres, it's totally safe for them. Worst thing we've had is a few bee stings and some hard falls out of the trees. The older two are allowed into the paddock with the family ponies (quiet as lambs), but none are allowed to go into the paddocks with the other horses or our other animals.

Yes, I do. Our backyard is not fenced in, and we have a coyote problem here, so my kids are always supervised by my Dh or I while they are playing in the backyard. Even if our yard was fenced in, we'd still supervise them.

I always keep an eye on my little sister when she is outside.

No. I sit in the living room and watch him throug the screen door but I don't always stay outside with him...he's 4.

I do the same with my 3 year old... unless he is playing with the neighbor and her nana is outside with them.

Nope. I'll go out there if I hear screaming.

I have a large fenced in backyard with a large window that faces the backyard so in the summertime I keep that window open and the door open and check on my 4 year old every 10 minutes or more. She is usually singing or talking to herself so I makes sure if things get quiet to check on her. Its so much different for her then when I was a kid at her age, I had older brothers to look out for me and younger siblings that I looked out for. So my parents let us roam the street in our small town neighborhood where we we always a loud yell away. This story makes me so nervous and sad for the child and parents.
