Catheter induction?

I am being induced next week and they are having me go in the day before for a catheter to start dilating me. They are going to start me on pitocin and break my water the next day. Yesterday at my appointment (40 weeks exactly) my cervix was still closed but I am around 50% effaced. Anyone have experience with this? Does it hurt?? I have never had a catheter so I dont have any idea what to expect. I am very tender apparently and all of my cervical exams have hurt really bad so I'm thinking it is going to more than likely hurt lol. This isn't an issue really just looking for experiences/advice.

Never had it, but labor is going to hurt it cant hurt more than that!

I never had one, I been induced but I was already dilated and efface... I think the Catheter will kind of force you to dilate.... i'm sure it will feel uncomfortable but I don't know how bad... considering you probably won't be contracting until they start the meds.

I had a catheter with DD1, honestly, I didn't feel a thing. I don't know if it was because I was concentrating on contractions or if I had the Epi at that point lol. I didn't feel them take it out either.
