Would this be worth it?

posted 22nd Nov
We will have 4 (soon to be 5) kids under age 10, and I always do art supplies for Christmas, this year I was considering buying a huge classroom pack off of Amazon.

400 crayons for 26.88?

With so many young kids, would you find this to be worth it? Not to give them all at once, obviously, but do give a few at a time throughout the year?

8 different colors.

The other option is 800 crayons in 16 colors - but thats like 50.00 some dollars and a whole lotta crayons lol.

Not really. You're better off buying the 64 crayon packs for the simple fact that they can do more with more colors. 8 colors would get very boring/frustrating for a kid quick lol

Lol we stocked up on construction paper last Christmas... Like we had 20 packs. K went through it in 3 months. Before a pack would last at least a month

Yeah, I feel like 8 colors isn't really enough for the 9 and 6 year old.

But we do go through A LOT of crayons, like they color all the time, thats why I was wanting to buy a really big box, but I will definitely be checking Hobby Lobby, I forgot we had one here in town now! And I have coupons, too -

Thanks guys!

Check Blick art supplies too (online site if you don't have a store) and you could probably get two of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000EYF6TM
And put one up for later!

Thats what SO said, too - I should have thought about this when school supplies were still on super sale!

Lol I learned my lesson. I got k a crayola art box from Costco (markers, 64 pack crayons, metallic crayons, colored pencils and color magic stuff) and she's still working on it! Yet the 16 pack of crayons that I bought for me to use, she used them until they were nubs and I had to melt them down into "people" within a week. She's always coloring. Like nonstop. I had to hide my pastels from her coz "these crayons are better" and more expensive
