I have an 11 month old and i can't ween him off of his bottle. He doesn't understand the concept and just chews on his sippy cups instead of actually drinking from them. I have switched to the ones with the straw lookin' thing, still no luck. Any suggestions?

Just keep trying, it took awhile for DS to get the hang of sippies too. We started him with the rubber nipple ones and then the hard plastic ones. We tried the straw ones but he always made such a mess with them. Don't give up! The older you let them keep the baba the harder it is to break the habit.

Hes teething. And a hard sippy probably feels good. Let him stick to the bottle, theres no rule that says they have to be off of them by one year.

Thanks girls. I am hoping o get him off before his birthday because his teeth are coming in so fast & I don't want him to get comfortable with a bottle to the point he thinks that is the only thing he can drink from.

I switched to the nuby sippies with DD because she would just chew on the hard ones. The nuby ones had a soft tip and when she bites it liquid somes out so she understands something is in there!!

This is crazy! My husband and I JUST went through this, we got so frustrated and ran out of ideas, so we sat in the floor with her in between us, watching. We each took a sippy cup, placed one in front of her, and drank from em, saying 'thirsty'. She's not completly thrilled with it, but she is doing better. Good luck!
