Comfort eaters

posted 22nd Nov
Since about 13 years old I have eaten for comfort. I wont go into the reasons why. But I am so addicted to this habit that I find it impossible to lose weight. I'm miserable about being fat, so I eat to make myself feel better, then just feel worse. Vicious cycle and all that... So, if you have been through this, how did you shake the urge to snack and eat all the time? I'm sick of living like this. I've tried counselling for the emotional attachment I have with food but that got me nowhere.
Blargh.

snacking and eating all the time is good. It just needs to be healthy. I am in the same boat as you. I will be buying a bicyce and getting my butt out there regardless. But I also need to eat fruit instead of chips. and things like that.

Try doing cross stitch, then. I do it because it gets my brain off of little matters

You can buy some dumbells cheap online or on craigslist. i find perfectly good stuff all the time. Have a friend come over to do it with you. It's a proven fact that people hardly exert or
Motivate themselves unless they feel the need to "show off" or impress someone.

Yeah when I used to have a gym buddy I lost loaaads of weight because I wanted to 'beat' her muahaha. I'll look online, that's a good idea really, I could buy gym equipment to use at home

Haha!! Yes!! My buddy and I had contests. It's actually cheaper to buy your own stuff (you don't need machines) for way cheaper than it is to maintain a membership

I've been thru that, and it's a battle. I even used to eat so much and purge. I finally started working out at home. Gym memberships are so expensive. But found workout videos I liked and I jog outside. I would paint out draw and drink coffee, obviously not going overboard, cuz that helped make me not feel as hungry at the beginning (cuz your body naturally thinks it needs that much food since it's used to having it) and I premade vegetables and chicken. Big bowl of it in the fridge so it's the easiest thing to heat up and eat. I used frozen and fresh vegetables, seasoned however I wanted, and grilled the chicken on the stove in bite size pieces. Helped me. I lost 80 lbs before my first pregnancy, all the baby weight, and after this one I'll keep doing it.

You can do it. If you need sweets, try DARK chocolate covered
Berries or bananas
