re: still breach.

Its really sad here that the habit is to schedule one if the baby is breech, meaning the baby is born before they are ready, and the baby isn't given a proper chance to turn. No wonder we have one of the worst infant mortality rates in the developed world.

im going to     at your first statement because this post had nothing to with that... and if it came down to her still being breech when i go in to labor then i would want a C section because theres way more risks if i give birth to her breech vaginal then if i got a C section.

ha when my midwife was talking about breech delivering i was like "the hell are you talking about?" they have to stay below a c-section rate of 15% and it's at 11 or 12, i can't remember.

risks or not, they're doing SOMETHING right over here, considering norway has one of the lowest newborn/maternal mortality rates.

i think waiting for labor to start on it's own AND THEN make a decision if needed would be best. i've heard of babies being like "oh hey, time for me to bounce!" and turn head's down   luna didn't go heads down until my 32 week appointment. there's plenty of time!

there's plenty of risks involved with both. i personally would rather attempt a vaginal delivery and have c-section as a last resort.

I know a dr that does breech deliveries here, he carefully screens people, and has never had a mortality in a breech birth.

i would prefer you not to talk about mortality in breech births as it could apply to my daughter.... its disrespectful and rude. expecialy since i was already worried.... thanks.

i think most doctors just have a fetish for cutting women open or something. it's sad that most women are forced to think that c-sections are the ONLY option for any type of problem.

the US needs more midwifes and less doctors overseeing pregnancies in my opinion.

ANY type of birth could mean mortality...for christ's sake, nobody is like, singling you out.

there's risks involved with EVERYTHING. end of story.

There is a risk of mortality in every birth. There was nothing disrespectful and rude that has been said in this thread. You are looking for something to get offended about. The comment you were referring to was a comment regarding ZERO cases of mortality. Also it is involving a breech birth, something you already said you would never do... so you can cool your jets.

good for you...

and i chose a midwife who doesn't make me feel the need to freak out about everything that COULD go wrong and fully supports my birthing choice if it is at all possible.

i want my doctor, too. when i'm sick.

Mama, don't sweat it. I'm 36 weeks, and DD is Transverse. Last week, she was frank breech. Week before that, she was breech. They can move right up until delivery, so don't freak yourself out.
