Would you think it's weird....
posted 21st Nov
Last time I was pregnant and we found out we were expecting a girl and we eventually decided we loved the name Evelyn Iris. When she was born a he, we had to scrap that name (obviously) and pick a boys name but now that I'm expecting again, SO thinks that recycling the name would be fine. I feel weird about it because it feels like we wouldn't have put any thought into it. I also wanted to surprise people with a nice new name but he doesn't think we need to think of new names for a girl.
Do you think it's weird to recycle the same name or is it fine because we never used it?

I would pick something new

I would use it. Why pick another name if that's a name you love?

I don't think it's weird. It's a very lovely name!
But you could always look at new names with your SO, maybe you'll find something different that you'll both like.

I would use it. If you are still thinking about that name must be cuz you still live it other wise you would have forgotten all about it.

I did love it at that point but right now I'm half questioning it. It's a ridiculous way of thinking, I know... But when I didn't get to take my daughter home, I kind of felt as though I'd lost her. I had a happy, healthy son instead but I just became so attached to Evelyn while she was inside, before I knew she wasn't a she... And it kind of just feels like I'd be using her name on a replacement if I did have a girl

No need to pick something else if you already love it! It's not like you used it already or anything.

We were team green and used the first name we had picjed if our son had been a girl. We did change the middle name but only because I no longer liked it.

I don't see how it's weird. It's a nice name.
