It's just common practice to have a middle name in the U.S. I considered not using them but it would just be a big pain for me and for my kids throughout their lives. I don't think having a strong second name takes away from the first name in any way. I don't use the middle name unless I'm filling out documents but it's there and it's substantial. I like that. To me, Coraline Ivy does flow well.

*Shrugs* it's common practise in most countries to have a middle name, including my own. My children have middle names...so I am not anti middle names.

I didn't say that a strong middle name takes away from the first name, at all, I said it was a strong enough first name to stand alone. Since OP wants a middle name, I too chose Coraline Ivy.

I'm not a huge fan of the choices but then again, it's not my child's name.
