14 Month old fever

DS is 14 months old (well on Sunday he will be) Earlier today he had a fever of 101.4 under his arm (adding 1 I guess it was 102.4) Brought him to my mom because I had to work, his fever was at 100 something. I told my mom and she FLIPPED OUT and said "There's something wrong with him, did you give him medicine, omg he's going to become sterile just like your great Uncle Wes" What..the...hell mother lol. I was like uhh no I didn't give him medicine, it went down on its own, and she just kept telling me how bad it was and I just ignored her.
I got home from work, his temp was 101 so I went to the store to get Infant Ibuprofin, gave him a dose, 30 minutes later he's at 100.4. He also has had a runny nose.
Is my mom crazy or what?

if he still has one 2mro id call the Dr but it being 101 wont hurt him DD is 5months her fever was 101 yesterday i took her to the dr they said if it didnt go away by this morning to bring her back and theyd test for the flu and a UTI fever was gone by last night if it gets above 102 id take him in
