pain along old cesarean scar

posted 21st Nov
I was wondering if anyone had every experienced this, as it's new for me. Four years ago I had a c-section and I've had no issues with my scar since 8 months after it was done. Today my scar has been acting up, not on the outside but on the inside. I don't know how to describe the feeling, it's almost painful cramping, it does not feel like period cramps, more like a tugging sensation that kinda hurts and kinda makes me sick to my stomach. It's driving me nuts, it keeps tightening up and then the pulling sensation starts. I don't know what's going on. Has anyone else experienced this?

That I don't know, my doctor didn't seem to notice anything with my scar at my last pap. My scar somehow manages to be almost completely invisible on the outside, and the little bump that seems common for a c-section scar is hardly noticeable so I don't think I have adhesions or much scar tissue to speak of. It's never bothered me before tonight.

I get that sometimes if I move too fast, or pick DD up. My scar is a year old, and is so well healed, you can't see it. I also get itches that I cannot scratch.

I hate it when it gets itch, it drives me crazy, thankfully that rarely happens now, it happened frequently the first 2 years though. I can't say the pain is from movement, it's cramping right now and all I'm doing is sitting on the couch. Hopefully it stops soon, I feel a little lightheaded when it starts cramping up, kinda like when my ears are giving me trouble. grr...other than that, I've had much more energy today than usual, so at least baking 3 pies for thanksgiving wasn't a chore.

Oh, also, I know that sharp pulling sensation from moving the wrong way and such, but this isn't like that sensation, it's deeper and not sharp, kind of a dull sensation, similar to early contractions, which is something I never expected to experience when not pregnant.

You can have adhesions and scar tissue internally without there being outward symptoms of it. I did. I had a smurfload of scarring internally with my third pregnancy and there were no outward symptoms and we had no clue there was anything going on until I went in for my c-section. Doctor said it was the worst scarring she'd ever seen. No symptoms.

So you very well could have it and it could be bothering you.

Any chance you're pregnant? I know for me, my old scar hurt when I got pregnant.

I didn't know that about adhesions, I always figured they would be noticeable at least during my pelvic exam.
As for chances of being pregnant, it would be incredibly low as my sex life is almost nil with the beginning of the hectic holiday season, that and condoms work well when used correctly, which we do.   Not that I would be averse to the idea, I would just be extremely surprised.
