There really is not much to it. Just prepared to possibly be in a crap ton of pain. I got put on pitocin about 5 hours into my labor. It made me want to drop kick the snotty nurse in her face.

Yeah I have a friend who works Labor and Delivery and she said most of the time inductions are a little more rough. Thanks hun.. I have already got the mind set that this is going to hurt horribly. But i can say I am ready for this..

try and get as much rest the day before and like others said, be ready for pain. Keep in mind though that pain, even though it sucks, will bring you your bundle of joy! good luck

Agreed!! I wont get induced again unless medically necessary! Pitocin is evil! And idk how your cervix is..but mine wasnt ready so i needed cervidil (they do it in 12 hour doses) and i did 3 doses...it took 3 and a half days for me to be ready for pitocin and finally go into hard labor..which i had to get the epidural even tho i was 110% AGAINST it.it hurt that bad. the second i got the pitocin my contractiosn were 2 mins apart and remained that way... but my son was perfectly healthy..and i was happy i had the epi cause i tore pretty good

oh yea thats right about the speed of the contractions. At the start when they didnt hurt to bad but they were coming every 2-3 mins. Then when the contractions were unbearable they were still every 2-3 minutes. My nurse said they would come faster then normal.

As far as i know, I wont need the cervidil stuff. She said the plan was to start the pitocin and break my water. My b/p has been running a little high and friday Ill be 40w so She thought it was best to go ahead. She tried teh membrane sweep last week thinking it would put me into labor naturally but it clearly was no help. At my apt on monday she said i was about 1.5cm, Her head was super low, and i was soft and thinning.
