unusual??

My son will be 5 years old in January. I was checking his teeth after he brushed them, and noticed that his 6 year molars are already starting to come in. Is it weird that these teeth are coming in so early?

Not at all. All children's teeth come in at different rates. My sons "2 year molars" are starting to come in and he's 14mo

Mine came in when I was 4, and DS is 4 and his are starting to come through.
It's not terribly uncommon, they are just called 6 year old molars because that's when they're most likely to appear.

Do you think that means he will lose his baby teeth early also? Or is it unrelated?

im so clueless about teeth. Ds had his first set on molars by the time he turned 1. I keep checking his mouth because hell be super irritable like when he was teething. His gums are very hard and kind of lighter like they could be coming threw soon. Btw ds is 2 1/2

I think it's unrelated. I didn't lose my first baby tooth until I was 8.
