Is this normal? I really couldn't see anything.

I went to the dr. today and got an abdominal u\s. Dr. said my little bean could be barely seen but his heartbeat could be seen flickering he said we got lucky snce usually not much is seen at 5 wks 6 days. bad news is I got a small cyst (luteal cyst) think he said those just need to be checked and usually disappear on their own.However in the u\s I also saw no bby no yolksack but him and my husband said heart was seen and so was the baby but super small like a shadow. He wants to see me in two weeks to check the cysts though and see baby is growing up to day. Should I be worried.

No not as long as they seen the heart beat I don't think you have anything to be worried about. Did they do a vag u/s? If not you did get very luck in seeing the heart beat.

5 weeks with an abdominal? It's pretty impressive you could see anything. At 8 weeks PipSqueak was a little dot with a heartbeat on the transvaginal.

Abdominal at 5 weeks six days or 6wks according to LMP

Oh ok yea you are lucky they seen anything than I wouldn't worry at all   Sorry I missed that part   I'm reading to fast.

Yup but I couldn't see just my husband ad the dr did see the heart flickering

I'm not an ultrasound tech so seeing a very very early ultrasound I wouldn't have a clue what anything was... and I see ultrasounds all the time being an RN and looking up patients test etc... now show me a CT of the brain and I am wicked good but seeing my uterus until the baby was obviously a baby to me it was just grey matter   so for you to NOT see it I wouldn't worry.... it is still so early...
