So, I'm just going to post it.

This is the carpet right by the front door. Eventually SO and I said smurf it, and covered it with a rug. ANYWAYS. I cleaned this in seconds. The white stuff is baking soda FYI. lol
I just used a bit of dish detergent and half a cup of white vinegar, to about 3 cups of warm water. Thought you guys should know, it's like magic.
I let the baking soda sit for about 10 mins before vacuuming it up. Then I used a scrub brush to scrub out the stains..it took me very little effort.

And people think they need industrial chemicals or things are ruined   baking soda and vinegar go a long way for little $$$

My grandma uses it to clean EVERYTHING. To freshen up pipes/food disposal---> dump some soda down each side of the sink and then pour vinegar down it. Add a little lemon or orange oil for smell

I only use water, vinegar, baking soda and occasionally dish soap along with elbow grease! I don't even buy harsh cleaners.

Same here, SO's mom is the one who showed it to me.

And I just bought a new carpet shampooer lol. My whole house needs it, though.

Haha you have more patience than I. Our living room is massive, I'd die. We used my MIL's like 6 months ago and it worked so well and so fast, so we just bought the same one. I love it! Buuut I will fasho use this for the deeper stains instead of buying their stain solution for em.

I wonder if I could use this on Bug's car seat for the stains on there.

lol, we have a TINY living room. Plus...I only cleaned the areas outside of the rug.   lolol

It probably will, it lifts just about anything up out of any fabric
