only 34 weeks but measuring 42

posted 21st Nov
Went to doctor two weeks ago(32 weeks) and doctor said i was measuring ahead but wouldnt tell me by how many weeks. Today(34 weeks) went back and I was still measuring far ahead right at 42. They sent me straight over for an ultrasound. It came back normal with a 5 pound baby girl all looked heathly. I know its just an guess on weight it could be wrong  . Anyway, is this normal? they said my fluid looked good and nothing looked off. I measured normal all the way up to 32 weeks. The doctor wasnt my normal doctor that I see. What would casue her to be measuring so big already?

I was measuring the same with DS. He was almost 10 pounds at birth. That was why I measured so large. I was measuring 45 at 38.5 weeks

It could just be how you carry.

I was the opposite, i measured a month small and didn't have small babies.

My son was 2 weeks early and weighed 8lbs. 7 oz.

Yes, totally normal. You're probably on your way to a big baby.

Im measuring three weeks ahead as of last week.
If youve had kids before your uterus may just be bigger or how she is sitting

I tried to talk to the doctor about it and she just went on this spill about how she wont induce. I was ok but thats not what I asked you. I asked is it normal and is it somethign worry about.

My ultrasound showed everything as normal so I was just like this is odd. I dont think I've changed how I'm carrying her. I've measured right on my weeks up til 32 weeks.

the doctor that I say was in a huge hurry and didnt really seem like she cared.

this is my third baby.

My first was born at 40 weeks weighing 7 lbs 9 oz
my second was at 36 weeks weighing 6 lbs 12oz

IS there a chance she will jump and be a huge baby? Does the dad play a role in how big a baby she will be?

I personally do.
My husband was 11 pounds and my kids were massive
I was only 5 pounds
This baby is way ahead in weight as well.

Well of course you do! But youll probably have a good 8 pound baby if she is already weighing 5!

I've thought from the beginning she would be between 7 and 8 pounds. Do 8 pound baby's wear premie and newborn cloths..lol

ok thanks. My 7lb 9 oz wore premies for a week or so all her cloths I took the the hospital was to big so my mom went and bought her a premie outfit.

This one I've packed premie, newborn, and 0-3 month outfit cause I'm scared she will be a big girl
