SPD

posted 21st Nov
My SPD has started much earlier with this pregnancy (from about twenty weeks) and it gets so bad that I can't roll over in bed without nearly being in tears because it feels like my pubic bone is being torn apart, the other day I could actually hear it creaking and popping. It's making me miserable because I keep wondering how much worse it will get when I still have 15 weeks left :/ Everything else about my pregnancy has been pretty perfect so I can't complain but I can't even explain the pain and I can't get rid of it

What is SPD? I had my DD2 11 days ago & had the same horrible pain you are having from about 5 months till the end. I told my Dr about it and they sent me to physical therapy. PT didn't help at all. about 2 days abo, I was in bed and stretched just right and that spot that hurts Popped(like popping a knuckle or something) and now it doesn't hurt anymore. Hope you dont have to suffer to the end like I did

I haven't been officially diagnosed with it...every time I mention it to the midwives at my practice, they don't seem too concerned...but I have the same kind of pain and sometimes it's unbearable. I have to have my husband put my socks and shoes on for me because I can't lift my feet up without pain, and it hurts when I stand up after sitting for a while or, like you said, roll over in bed. Also when I'm on my feet all day. When I'm working or it starts to bother me really bad, I wear my pelvic support belt...that seems to help a lot! I wear it low around my hips and the compression seems to make a huge difference.

Omygod! I know what you mean, I laughed the other day because I couldn't even lift my leg enough to put pants on but it's so bit funny, it hurts so much. I have been told to get one of them so I might try it.

My OB wrote me a script for it, and I got it at a medical supply store so my insurance covered 100% of it...it was originally for my lower back pain but it helps with the pain in my pubic area as well.
