Theft by taking in GA. Do not quote please.

So, someone I know (Not me.) is going to court for a theft by taking felony. The person is claiming that the person I know has stolen over 500 dollars (When they didn't!) They have pleaded guilty to stealing SOME of the stuff this is their first ever felony as well, how will this turn out most likely? They are from GA I'm not sure how the system works here.

Jail time most likely... since it IS a felony.

IDK how that would work, but if the judge does their job, this person will get time

Theft is theft wether it's 2.00 or "over 500.00". They knew right from wrong and now they should pay for it.

You can probably look online for the maximum sentence for felony theft. Your friend's attorney should have already told him all this....
