I know in France it's pretty much male. But I haven't met any male Rene's in person. To me it looks female just because I actually know Renee's. Renee is pronounced the same as Rene.

I like the name either female or male. I just associate it mainly as female but when I meet someone with a unisex name, I usually from that point consider it more towards whatever gender that person is, if that makes ANY damn sense at all LOL.

I have a cousin named Rene, but he pronounces it like "rainy". I like it well enough. I wouldn't use it personally, but it's definitely not the most terrible name out there lol. And it's refreshing after all the "aiden" names.

I dislike it on both but I think it's better on a girl
