Just curious...

I would love to own my house one day... one day! but right now due to the economy and bills but how many of you momma's rent a house... how long have you rented? Are you happy with that?

We just moved into a 2bed 1ba house about 3 months ago and we love it... of course our lease is 1 yr then after that month to month and we still have plenty of debt to clear out... so im wondering even if you can afford a house would you buy one deal with taxes and insurance and all that or are you happily renting and not deal with all those ownership issues... we figure in a few years we can move into a bigger rental house? What do you ladies think? Thanks

If we could buy right now we absolutely would. I'd love my daughter to be able to have what I had growing up and be in the same house her whole life. Hopefully soon we can make it happen, definitely have to get rid of some other bills and start saving more before we can do it though. It's a great time to buy, houses are cheap at the moment!

Well I bough my house 2 years ago. At first it was perfect and loved everything. Then I got pregnant with my 2nd child and I quickly realised the house is cramped for our family even tho we have 3 bedroom. There s only one bathroom/toilet and we have to take turns to either shower or use the toilet.
Now I wish I didn't rush Into buying.

While I could potentially see us owning some day - it's just not for us right now! We will be moving around for SO's college and even after that....I just don't know if it will ever be something I could see myself realistically doing. Personally, we LOVE being able to up and move if we want, we love not being tied down to one spot. If we don't like the place we are in, we can go somewhere else. We have the opportunity to be here this year and pick another city to experience next year!

Right now, we rent a small 3 bedroom house, after this baby comes, we will likely try to find something a little bigger, but we want to go to either Austin or Houston for SO to continue school after this degree, after that, who knows! We've also had our eye on California and such, so who knows. While we are happy with the family lifestyle, we just aren't ready to settle forever in one spot, we have too much to see still!

We can afford to buy, but choose to live on post! Basically, like renting since they take his entire BAH. It's convenient, safe, if something breaks...they fix it immediately [they even replace our light bulbs, ac filters ..etc], they mow our lawns. I like the worry free living, especially as often as my husband is deployed.

We've been at our current house for 2 and a half years now. We like it but will be moving in the next year or year and a half to somewhere with a 3rd bedroom. Definitely need more space.

yes that part is good... we have had a couple repairs that have been done and they come out and fix it and no expense to us so thats a plus on renting with a landlord or property managment company... thanks
