Would you be upset with a parent who spoke to you about something like this? And would it change the way you felt about their child? I mean I'm sure you wouldn't purposefully treat the child differently, but unconsciously do you think it could happen? I don't want to effect his relationship with his teacher negatively.

It really, really depends on the teacher. I wouldn't be offended at all and be grateful she came to me first and would try to better my class... but only because I rock on so many levels.  

but I know many, many teachers who would be offended or would brush off the concern completely, though I don't know too many who would treat the child differently, to be honest.

Most teachers are teachers because even though the little devils drive us insane, we really do love your kids!

Yeah, my degree is in early childhood education and that's why I went into it as well. And you're right I wouldn't feel differently about the child but I'm really nervous with her being a bit older and kind of following an "old school" classroom mentality.
I mean she is very nurturing and sweet, I really do like her as a teacher, I just don't know what to do about this issue. It really bothers both myself and my husband.

I understand, they are basically pushing Christianity or God onto your child and that makes you uncomfortable. That's completely understandable.

Whether you speak to the teacher or the principle, say basically what you said in this post. You love the teacher, you think she is wonderful, but you feel you need to make this complaint for reasons XYZ.

Alrighty I can do that. I hate confrontation so this seriously stresses me out if you can't tell. Lol
