If you leave him, it will be hard to get him back.. If you can. I don't know if your SO and his mom are close, but I guarantee that if you file for custody, they will claim you abandoned him.

What does not having a phone have to do with this??

There are a lot of resources out there. Utilize them. Don't just leave your kid with someone for who knows how long...

what is best for you and your child is you find somewhere that you BOTH could go to, if you take off and try and come back for him later then your SO or his mom can say that you abandoned your child and the courts will more then likely grant them custody since who knows when you'll actually be back to get him. why would you even consider leaving him behind, i would rather die then leave my kids more then 24 hours.

I may leave my daughter with someone so I could work two jobs or something for awhile to jumpstart our lives alone, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to chose your soon to be ex's family.
