Acid reflux

Can anyone tell me what it feels like?

I woke up this morning with a pain in my throat like I had thrown up stomach acid, but I haven't. I also keep getting heartburn. Does this sound like it? I took some tums but if it continues ill make an appt with my doctor.

Thats exactly how mine feels. Usually tums fixes it but during pregnancy i have to use zantac before bed or i end up with the burning acid in my mouth.

This is the first time I've ever had it. I hope it goes away before tomorrow because I feel like someone set my esophagus on fire.

Yeah its pretty awful. Try drinking a glass of milk, that might help. Also to prevent it they say to eat small meals more often rather than a couple big meals, dont eat close to the time ur going to bed and drink a glass of water after ur last meal, and if you can, try to elevate ur head a little while sleeping so the acid doesnt run up ur esophagus like it would if u were laying flat.

I tried milk this morning. No luck with that. I already eat small meals, but I'll definitely try the water afterwards. I can steal a pillow from SO to sleep elevated. Thank you for the help! It's weird that I've never had issues before now all the sudden I do.

Youre welcome. If youre able to, id suggest buying some zantac 75 (or an off brand) if youre still not getting any relief, as long as it wont interfere with any other medications u might be taking.

I'm not sure if it does or not. I'm on Levothyroxin for my thyroid and birth control, but that's it. I can ask my pharmacist though.

I got a sample dose of Zantac 150. Took last night before I ate dinner. Drank a glass of water after I ate, slept elevated, woke up this morning feeling fine.
