Over 800 rockets have been fired into Israel this year alone. They show amazing restraint.

i heard that they were already bombed, an hour after the cease fire went into effect, not sure how true it is.

Understanding Regarding Ceasefire in Gaza Strip


1.
a. Israel shall stop all hostilities on the Gaza Strip land, sea and air including incursions and targeting of individuals.
b. All Palestinian factions shall stop all hostilities from the Gaza Strip against Israel, including rocket attacks and all attacks along the border.
b. Opening the crossings and facilitating the movements of people and transfer of goods, and refraining from restricting residents free movement, and targeting residents in border areas and procedures of implementation shall be dealt with after 24 hours from the start of the ceasefire.
d. Other matters as may be requested shall be addressed.
2: Implementation Mechanism:
a. Setting up the zero hour for the Ceasefire Understanding to enter into effect.
b. Egypt shall receive assurances from each party that the party commits to what was agreed upon.
c. Each party shall commit itself not to perform any acts that would breach this understanding. In case of any observations, Egypt -- as the sponsor of this understanding -- shall be informed to follow up.



can someone explain to me what the above bolded means? They have 24 hours to comply? or what?

After 24 hours, they have to open the borders and let people go across. That includes the border with Egypt. They also have to open the ports.

I don't know why they are going through Egypt for this cease fire, though. Egypt is a Hamas loving, Muslim Brotherhood controlled country and all for Palistenian warfare against Israel.

Hamas, the muslim brotherhood and the like are terrorists.

These groups hide in schools and mosques and then cry foul when the Israeli's "purposely" kill or injure civilians.....after warning the general public...after dropping leaflets...after warning via TV.

Israel isn't blameless but hey when backed into a corner, that dog is going to bite!

Why not,they took land that didn't belong to them in the first place. And have not exactly been very conciliatory in forging a reaslitic peace.

It goes back to the ending days of ww1 essentially when the ottoman empire crumbled and other countries took control over arabian provinces. The issue essentially came to a head because of a un mandate for forge a jewish state there after ww2. The biggest issue being that jews at the time made up a small minority in palestine yet were promised a larger portion of land. So while I don't agree with how they utilize attacking civilins, or suicide bombers. I can understand when the palestinians have never been too rosy towards israel.

Calling for Israel's destruction and to be "wiped off of the map" is hostility at it's finest.

It's mind boggling to me how anyone could possibly side with terrorists. Hamas is using the Palestinian's as human shields, faking casualties and escalating the antisemitism by doing so. They flat out LIE about Israel and for what? A piece of land 1/2 the size of New Jersey?

It's funny, Jeruselum is mentioned ZERO times in the Qua'ran...but their stated goal (among many, maniacal others) is to take it from Israel. Do you know the complete history? It seems like you don't.

How would you feel if a foreign country invaded you and sat on your land? It's amusing how if they same thing happened in america the same actions would be deemed patriotism. However when other countries do it, it is deemed terrorism. A thin line separating them no? Jerusalems importance is rooted in then prophets ascension. Don't mistake me I don't agree with their methods, but I also don't see Israel as the innocent bystander who does zero wrong either.
